The Wood Chipper for Logs is mainly designed for processing various wood residues, including wood strips, log cores, waste veneers, branches, slabs, waste wood, and other forestry by-products. It is also suitable for processing small-diameter logs from timber harvesting operations, as well as some non-wood materials such as reeds, bamboo, and sugarcane.

Working Principle of Wood Chipper for Logs:

The wood logs are fed into the machine through the feeding inlet. When the material comes into contact with the cutting blades, it is quickly cut by the high-speed rotating cutter disc. The processed wood chips are discharged from the cutting chamber by the high-speed airflow generated by the rotating blades.

The drum wood chipper mainly consists of a machine frame, cutter drum, upper and lower feeding rollers, feeding system, hydraulic system, and other components. The machine frame is welded with high-strength steel plates, providing a strong and stable foundation for the entire chipper.

The cutter drum is equipped with two flying knives, which are securely fixed by pressure blocks and specially designed knife bolts. According to the thickness of different raw materials, the upper feeding roller assembly can move up and down within a certain range with the assistance of the hydraulic system, ensuring smooth feeding and efficient cutting. Qualified wood chips pass through the screen holes and are discharged from the bottom, while oversized materials remain inside the machine for further processing.

Hydraulic System of Drum Wood Chipper:
The hydraulic system uses a manual oil pump to supply oil to the hydraulic cylinder, allowing the machine cover to be opened conveniently for blade replacement. During maintenance, the upper feeding roller assembly can be lifted to make it easier to adjust the clearance between the flying knives and the bottom knives, as well as to install or remove the comb plate.
