Products Description
The continuous carbonization furnace adopts advanced technology to recover, purify, and recycle the combustible gases generated during the carbonization process, such as carbon monoxide, methane, and oxygen. This effectively solves the problem of environmental pollution caused by dense smoke in ordinary carbonization furnaces during the carbonization process and addresses the heat energy requirement for the charcoal machine equipment. The Continuous carbonization furnace achieves self-supply and improves the continuity and cost-effectiveness of the equipment. By fully utilizing agricultural and forestry residues and turning waste into treasure, it reduces the contradiction between supply and demand for forestry resources in China and makes a significant contribution to environmental greening.

The carbonization process consists of three stages: low-temperature drying, high-temperature calcination, and cooling. The firewood sticks contain around 8% moisture when entering the Continuous carbonization furnace, and this moisture is detrimental to the carbonization process. Moisture in the firewood sticks can significantly affect the quality of carbonization, as the sticks are susceptible to dampness. Therefore, a moisture removal period is essential. The moisture removal period typically ranges from 10 to 15 hours for traditional kilns and 2 to 3.5 hours for mechanized kilns. The longer heating time prevents the firewood sticks from becoming damp and cracking, ensuring high-quality carbonization.
When the Continuous carbonization furnace temperature reaches 300 degrees Celsius, a considerable amount of combustible gas can be generated within the furnace. Theoretically, every kilogram of raw material can produce three cubic meters of methane gas, which can be used to heat the furnace. The exhaust gases can be used as a heat source for drying, with temperatures exceeding 400 degrees Celsius during the insulation and calcination stage, which requires a sealed, oxygen-free environment. The cooling process can be achieved through self-combustion cooling or water cooling.
After the wood charcoal is discharged from the kiln, it should be ventilated before being removed to prevent carbon dioxide poisoning. The charcoal should be left outdoors for at least 8 hours after being removed from the kiln to prevent smoldering and the risk of fire.

The carbonization process in the Continuous carbonization furnace can generally be divided into the following three temperature ranges:
Drying Stage: From ignition to the furnace temperature reaching 160°C, the moisture in the mechanized sticks mainly evaporates through the external heat and the heat generated by the combustion itself. The chemical composition of the mechanized sticks remains almost unchanged during this stage.
Initial Carbonization Stage: In this stage, the temperature rises from 160 to 280°C mainly through the heat generated by the combustion of the sticks themselves. The wood materials undergo thermal decomposition reactions, and their composition begins to change. During this stage, unstable components such as hemicellulose decompose, producing substances such as CO2, CO, and a small amount of acetic acid.
Full Carbonization Stage: The temperature during this stage ranges from 300 to 650°C.
