Working Principle

Wood enters the machine through the feed opening, where it is first cut by blades before entering the grinding chamber. Inside the grinding chamber, high-speed rotating hammer blades violently impact the wood, while cutting blades work in conjunction to grind it into chips. An internal fan generates airflow, or an external blower is used to draw air, and the ground chips are discharged through a screen at the outlet. Some wood chippers utilize hydraulic cylinders to drive a sliding table that loads the wood, causing it to move back and forth along the platform. During this movement, the wood is shaved by the chipping blades, resulting in uniformly sized wood chips.
