Recently, a Canadian client inquired about a seedling machine, seeking a solution to precisely sow cabbage seeds into plug trays and thereby boost their farm's operational efficiency.
The client operates a farm in Canada, growing fresh vegetables for the local market to meet daily consumer demand. They currently use 288-cell trays and manually place seeds into each cell-a slow process that significantly hampers farm operations during the busy sowing season. We recommended our Model 200 drum-type nursery seedling machine. This unit integrates soil filling, press holes, sowing, and soil covering into a single process. It features a variable-frequency speed control system to perfectly synchronize with downstream operations and an automatic photoelectric sensor that prevents sowing if no tray is detected. Additionally, a specialized seed recovery system ensures no seeds go to waste.
We invited the client to visit our factory, where we demonstrated the machine's operation using their specific trays and Chinese cabbage seeds. Impressed by the performance, the client requested a custom machine length; our engineers confirmed we could design and manufacture the machine to these specifications to maximize utility for the client.
Before shipping the completed machine, we conducted a final test run using the client's 288-cell trays and spherical Chinese cabbage seeds. The results were flawless, with seeds landing precisely in the center of each cell. The client also purchased a substrate soil crusher and mixer to complement the nursery seedling machine. Once crushed and mixed, the substrate is conveyed directly to the seedling machine's hopper via a lift, enabling a fully automated workflow.
